Origins of Camcal and Early Years in Petroleum Equipment
Camcal was founded in Tacoma 25 years ago by professionals who understood the region's appetite for dependable petroleum infrastructure. In the company's early years, the focus was straightforward: install fuel storage tanks, run piping, commission dispensing systems, and calibrate meters to the accuracy standards that commercial and government clients require. Word spread quickly that Camcal delivered clean, compliant work—and the phone kept ringing. Those foundational years shaped the no-shortcuts culture that defines our team today.
Moving to 1970 Milwaukee Way in the Port of Tacoma
Establishing our location at 1970 Milwaukee Way placed Camcal at the center of South Sound's industrial activity. The Port of Tacoma corridor connects us directly to the logistics providers, fleet operators, fuel distributors, and heavy-industry contractors who make up a significant share of our client base. Being Port-based means shorter drive times to job sites, familiarity with Port permitting processes, and an understanding of the operational demands that Port-adjacent businesses face every day.
Growth Serving Commercial, Industrial, and Government Clients
Over 25 years, Camcal expanded its service offering to match client demand. Vehicle lifts, compressed air systems, ventilation equipment, tire machines, and brake lathes joined our petroleum division as natural complements—the same shops and facilities buying fuel systems also needed shop infrastructure. Today, Camcal serves auto repair shops, dealerships, municipal maintenance yards, transit agencies, and commercial fuel retailers throughout Washington State and beyond. Our petroleum division extends down the West Coast—serving Oregon, California, and Arizona including Phoenix—while vehicle lift services remain focused in Washington State for fast, local response.
